“Who owns us?”, asked the Stormtrooper.

Uh-oh. Looks like the Stormtroopers don’t know where to side!

The Stormtroopers were first seen in Star Wars. Of course, those were the evil soldiers who proved themselves worthy of the name antagonists as they were vital in (some parts of) the movie. Now, the Star Wars genius Lucas and costume-maker (for all the Star Wars EP) Andrew Ainsworth are suing each other and the Stormtroopers are trapped right in the middle.

So, what’s the issue all about? Well, Lucas sued Ainsworth for copyright infringement since Ainsworth sold the costumes of the Stormtroopers for 1,800 pounds each. Yes, 1,800. Well if you think Ainsworth was the bad man here, stop. No court decisions have been made yet and honestly, the issue of copyright is quite hazy because no written copyright was made—all Lucas claims is that of implied copyright. It was his idea, his film, his talents and his costumes as well.
